It was really aging room. The only thing we like this place is location that in center of wholesale shopping center. As well, rate was reasonable.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring and tuk tuks and taxis are readily available near the hotel.
It's close to Pratunam shopping center. Room not big not small, comfy bed and cleaning room.

I made the mistake of getting a standard room for this stay and it was a big mistake. The room despite being a 'non smoking' room , stunk of stale cigerete smoke and there were burn marks all over the carpet and furniture. The sink was broken in half and their was mould on the walls. Wallpaper was falling down in the bedroom. The whole room needed renovating. VERY DISS

by DR. LEO T. PARADIANG from Phillippines

Oct 11, 2010

The hotel is located right in the middle of the shopping area-Pratunam. The only thing that should be looked into by the hotel is the quality & variety of their breakfast. It was good,
but it could certainly help them if the food would be improved.

The rooms are bad. It has a very bad smell when we first arrive in our rooms. They don't have air fresheners available. I think they don't clean the carpet. But on the other hand, the place is good for their buffet breakfast.

cheap and huge room. location pretty central

by Jerry Sim from Singapore

Apr 22, 2010

the place is pretty run down, everything in the room is old except the bed. 1 of the lights in my room is not working so I had a hard time packing my bags.
Breakfast area was great! nice view, on the 43rd level.
for the location and budget rates, i think its still quite a catch if u dun mind the oldness of the room.

have stayed at this hotel 4 times since 2007 & heading back in may 2010..could not ask for bigger or better rooms, living area is a huge size with table & chairs, good sized fridge {not bar size) cozy sofa lounge,tv, a/c worked well..yes carpets have seen better days few stains & old thats it. bedroom is good size with good working a/c also..bathoom always clean..ive never had any probs with lifts. staff are helpful, friendly couldn't ask for more. breakfast is great with much to choose from. don't understand what some people complain about for the price they are paying..if you want a tv in bedroom, different brecky menu everyday, ect ect you should be payin more & staying at a 5 star hotel..i have & will highly recommend this hotel to anyone. you get what you pay for & more.

Excellent location for good shopping

by Lee Thiam Guan from Singapore

Dec 27, 2009

Baiyoke Suite is well located in the Pratunam area which has access to wholesale markets just below the hotel and the Platinum Fashion Mall which is pretty near to the area. Loads of good shopping could be done and there are ample massage parlours and food restaurants around, so you pretty much not have to worry about food or shopping.

Staffs were monotonous, I wouldn't say un helpful but more like they do not bother? For example the bath tub in our room was clogged and the water wouldn't flow down when we shower, after telling the recptionist, no apology or anything, just a nonchalant 'Okay.' from her. However, when we went back to our room, the tub was still clogged.

Rooms were old and dusty, the family felt very uncomfortable living there due to the surroundings. Perhaps it is time they do an upgrade to their rooms, no point making them so big yet old.

My recent Bangkok stay was in Baiyoke Boutique hotel in August, comparing both hotels, Baiyoke Boutique definitely fared better despite being a budget hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, service was top-notch and the entire hotel environment was comfortable and friendly. As for Baiyoke Suite, I do not think I will want to stay there again.

by SHERAN KARUNAHARAN from TORONTO, CANADA

Jun 27, 2009

I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FROM JUNE 21-JUNE25, 2009. I WAS TRAVELLING WITH 2 KIDS (AGED 6,5), I NEEDED A ROOM THAT CAN ACCOMODATE 4 PERSONS. THIS HOTEL PROVIDED QUART OCCUPANCY ROOMS. THE ROOM WE STAYED WAS EXCELLENT WITH 2 SINGLE BEDS FOR THE KIDS AND ONE KING SIZE BED FOR US. VERY LARGE ROOMS. FOR FAMILIES TRAVELLING WITH KIDS, ITS A WONDERFUL HOTEL AND AN EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY YOU PAY. THE LOCATION IS GREAT, AS LOTS OF PEOPLE LOVES TO SHOP, AND ITS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF ALL THE SHOPPING AND WHOLESALE AREAS. YOU CAN FIND VARIOUS TYPES OF RESTAURANTS AROUND THIS AREA WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. AIRCONDITIONING IN THE ROOM WAS AMAZING. THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT WITH LOTS OF VARIETY AND NICE VIEW FROM THE 43RD FLOOR RESTAURANT. I WOULD STRONGLY RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAVELLING WITH KIDS, WHO LOVES TO SHOP AND WHO LOVES BARGAINS. I ALSO GREATLY APPRECIATE THIS WEBSITE FOR THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. THIS WEBSITE BOOKING SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND VERY EASY AND CONVENIENT. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS WEBSITE TO BOOK AGAIN AND I STRONGLY RECCOMMEND THIS WEBSITE TO MY FRIENDS.

In the middle of Shopping district

by Gautam Jindal from New Delhi, India

May 30, 2009

The hotel lobby , lifts and the roof top restaurant are good. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is not very comfortable and the carpets are dirty/ old. If shopping is your main agenda in Bangkok, look no further. You are spot on. With two small kids, we did not have many options as most hotels do not permit more than 3 guests per room including kids. Here we had 4 beds and that made life easier. The breakfast was good and the view from the 43rd floor restaurant was even better. Over all a good value for money.

This is my 2nd stay at your suite. I find the amenities quite as expected. But if I may, I would like to add a couple of views. Firstly, I was quite dismayed that there is no FREE wireless internet. For those like me who bring their work with them on their notebooks, i find it atrocious to be paying for internet where other cities in other countries provide free use. I hope this is one area that can be improved.
Secondly, the breakfast buffet is very welcome except that the variety of food is the same as one year ago. This is not so refreshing when you are looking for repeat customers.
Overall, your staff has been quite helpful and patient with their ever smiling face which is the trademark of the Land of Smiles, which is Thailand. I will definitely come back again to your hotel and hopefully the above suggestions may have improved.
Cheers

Good location for garment shopping.
Rooms far too old, need urgent renovation.
Prices of sightseeing tours far too expensive in hotel: the tour operator next to Baiyoke Sky Hotel offers same tours 3 times cheaper (Bhat 500 instead of Bhat 1,500 at hotel!!!)

I don´t know what all these reviews about waiting time of elevators are about. they were the most sophisticated elevators I have ever experienced. fast and safe (need room card to access any guest floor).
rooms a bit dated and yes, TV should also be in the bedroom.
personel friendly.

Baiyoke Suite is nice although the lack of a proper drop off point bugged me. The road is so narrow that even stopping to load my luggage into the taxi got me shouted at by the traffic warden. The bedrooms are at least shielded from lobby noise.

The hotel is quite strategically located from shopping areas. With good roadside stalls just below the hotel. The Deluxe suite is big and spacious. Clean and nice. Will return to stay if im going for shopping in BKK again. Taxis to major malls is jus less then 80baht. Nice view at 37th floor. Only setback maybe the room aircon, it noisy but it can be switch off and use the air con in e living room. Its so cold~

good location if u are not picky about the room

by sarah from Singapore

Nov 10, 2007

the location was good, there was a market just downstairs and walking distance to platinum, a little far from MBK though, esp if u have old people in your party. but the room was just functional, the hot water was the worst, on and off and could not be predicted. the breakfast was alright on the first day, but we had the same breakfast for 4 days, which was quite bad. other than that the room isn´t very new, but is rather clean. oh and the bellboys can´t be trusted, the concierge man overcharged us for the river trip, do not book anything from them. the hotel limousine is actually their own personal cars, like some kind of side income for them, nothing fancy at all. but other than that it´s not too bad, nice view from the 43rd story restaurant, service was alright, except they take really long to bring the luggage up and respond to calls. it´s livable.

Looks better than it is

by Bruce Owens from Seattle, WA

Oct 11, 2007

The rooms are very large for the money and clean, but it seems that that it hasn´t been well maintained, wallpaper peeling off, windows filthy on the outside and such. No breakfast included, but dinner up on the 43rd floor is nice with a beautiful view. The location is not good at all, not close to any BTS station and the traffic is an absolute nightmare at all times. A simple cab ride takes at least 45 minutes to get a mile away. All in all, it seems like this hotel has seen better days.

Sep 5, 2007

The suite room is too big enough for 2 person. The lobby is looked new(after renovation, i think)But the carpet is messy, & other facilities should be replace...The TV should be put inside the bedroom not the living room!! Anyhow is Ok for me cause the room is only for sleeping & take bath...

The location is Ok, just step out the hotel, is a market..can get a very cheap clothes & bags here...But is a bit far frm the BTS (ard 15-20 mins) walking distance...

Anyhow have a pleasant stay during my BangKok trip..

by Mr Glendon Crimp from Sydney, Australia

Comfortable rooms, great location and good value overall

by R.Allan from Auckland, New Zealand

Jul 5, 2007

This was the 3rd hotel my daughter and I had stayed at in Bangkok within 2 months and overall this was the best value. The location was ideal as we were within walking distance to all the malls and wholesale stores we liked. Our room was spacious and clean (although the decor was somewhat dated). The breakfast buffet was good (some food could have been hotter but overall the variety was great), plus being on the top floor you get an amazing view of the city. I also had a Thai and foot massage which were very well priced considering it was in the hotel. All the staff we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. The only concern I had was that anyone could access the lifts. In the previous hotels we stayed at you needed to insert your room card to access the different floors which I think is a good security measure. Aside from that, if I ever come back to Bangkok I would definitely stay at Baiyoke again.

Value for Money

by Tang Wern Ping from Malaysia

Jun 24, 2007

The location is good for bargain hunters - shopping haven for unbranded fashion wear. Right smack at the Pratunam wholesale market. Easily accesible to other parts of the city with many taxis and tuk-tuk. The suite room was a little old. But, no unpleasant smells though. Should have the TV set in the bedroom. The bath tub was clogged. Water pressure for the shower was poor. Breakfast was good but its the same for every day. An improvement on the facilities and bedrooms will be great. The kitchenette was entirely useless cos the tap in the kitchen sink was removed and the only thing available was just a water boiler. My 1st time in this hotel.
Will consider staying here again if the rates are maintained with some improvement to the rooms.

Right when you step out of the hotel, there is a market...perfect for those who love to shop. Walking distance to the malls. The buffet breakfast is really good! A lot of variety and the view is nice. Bedrooms are quite big! Good for families as well. The price is reasonable. And best of all there is an outdoor pool to relax in and soak up the sun. Would definately stay here again!

Stay here (in heart of cheap shopping) but don´t expect much !!

by Gary from India

Mar 5, 2007

I had thought that since this is a sister hotel of Baiyoke Sky (The tallest hotel in Thailand and also quite nice), it would be equally good, if not better.
The room was very very bad, AC didn´t work properly even after repeated calls to house keeping.
When we requested for room change, I got the Tried and trusted reply, "Sorry Sir, we are completely booked!!" Surprisingly, I never saw all those people anywhere in the hotel.

Breakfast buffet is quite decent, Staff is horrible and very hostile if you ask for an extra set of cutlery etc.

Lobby of the hotel is the only nice looking and well manitained area in the hotel.

Even if you have to stay near Patpong or Chatuchak, I would suggest you take that but not Baiyoke Suite.
We checked in for 2 nights but were out in 1 day.

The only saving grace is that it´s in the middle of cheap shopping (Pratunam area). But then you would come back to your room after a day of shopping, wouldn´t you..

Good location and good size rooms for families

by Mr Jaffer from Australia

Aug 27, 2006

I found the hotel staff to be very helpful and the rooms were a good size for a family. Like most hotels that I have stayed at in Thailand (in the mid to lower budget range)the rooms are not maintained to the standard that I would, but this hotel was not bad. I will stay again and I will use Hotels2Thailand again. Second stay at this hotel.

I guess the size of the suite given is really value for money. Minor problem such as waiting for the lifts would probably explain why the room rates are priced lowly. But seriously, I don´t mind waiting as this allows me to pay half the price for the same features provided elsewhere.

i enjoyed shopping the most... we got inexpensive yet affordable bargains. very good deal for shoppers like us... location is kinda strategic...i can´t say it is 100% perfect, well that depends on where you aim to go...agree?

however, it was quite tough for us to find proper eatery shops... or even restaurants...but yes, you can get to taste the juicy, distinctive creature (insect)... n other take away food i.e., chicken wings, sweet corn, grill fish, n etc...

hrmm, hope to visit Bangkok again...

1) Surrounding of the hotel looks old and very messy and dirty but got lots of cheap bargains.

2) Lobby newly renovated very impressive. Lobby´s toilet forever smells so good and super clean.

3) Lift is small and old still upgrading till now. so long already.

4) Rooms very big but dull colours make you so down also...

5) Bathroom opposite to the room. very small. the bathtub was pathetically small.

6) Breakfast don´t look attractive at all. taste also so so only.

7) gotta praise on their service and patient for the receptionist.

You pay a room rate and you get double the size. But what was irritating was the wait for the lifts. It´s a nightmare. But with the renovation going on (still going on although it stated in the website that it is expected to complete in December), they are adding two additional lifts. I wonder if that is enough!
