Grand Diamond Suites Pratunam Hotel Reviews

The Grand Diamond Plaza Suites Hotel Bangkok, is conveniently located on Petchburi Road, with Platinum Mall and Panthip Plaza on either side. Other shopping malls in the nearby area include Siam Paragon, MBK, Central World Plaza, and Siam Square.

Grand Diamond lives much to our expectations. Being 4 very picky ladies, there was no security issues for the hotel. There was always a handful of security guards at the door.
Note: Grand Diamond is newly refurbished and there is a shopping plaza located on the ground floor of the hotel. (Great for all those shopaholics out there!) Location-wise, being located next to Platinum Fashion Mall is a major draw! Getting a taxi to MBK was easy and did not cost more than a 100baht.
Service staffs were polite and courteous. Our calls made to the reception were quickly answered and the staffs spoke fluent English.
Rooms were spacious and very clean. Despite being refurbished there is no "musky"/"dried paint scent. We were fortunate to have the view overlooking Central World/ Big C (which was magnificent at night.)
We booked 2 junior suites and each room was well furnished. Beds and pillows were firm so it was comfortable for us ladies. Bathrooms were kept clean with adequate amenities.

The breakfast buffet spread was absolutely delicious!! There is an egg station, noodle soup station, Breads, International, Asian and even the Halal offerings were superb! Staffs were also prompt in their service and food was replenished quickly.

Only downside was the hotel's massage service. You're better off spending your money somewhere else. The massage located within the hotel was expensive and unprofessional. (Not worth your time and money)

Aside from the massage service, I will most definitely choose Grand Diamond on my subsequent visits to Bangkok!

I know the hotel was under renovation but the rate should be adjusted to suite circumstance. Rate is too expensive for current status.

Location of hotel is great and price is reasonable. Shopping and dining is convenient.

Good hotel with exceptional location for garment shopping (next door to all major shopping malls and markets). Staff are very friendly and helpful. However, BEWARE of cleaning staff regarding consumtion of mini bar items : I had the unpleasent surprise of being billed for the alledged consumption of 6 cans of beer whilst my wife, 2 years old son and myself are non alcoholic drinkers (and one must be very stupid to take beer from the mini bar costing 100 THB each while same is readily available for approx 20 THB in the Seven Eleven store next to the hotel entrance !!!)

Contrary to what some previous reviews stated, we only encountered friendly and smiling faces at the hotel. Rooms were spacious and really clean. They change the bed sheets everyday. Staff were friendly and obliging at all times. There were three flat screen TVs in our two bed room suite. The beds were firm and comfortable. Bathroom in the master bed room had excellent views over the Bangkok skyline. Room service was prompt and food was delicious. Best part of the hotel is the location. If you are in Bangkok for food and shopping, then this location is ideal. Next to Platinum Mall, Pantip IT Mall and a short 7 minutes walk to Central World, Big C and Gaysorn. Water taxi via smelly khlongs is just 5 minutes walk away. The highway to the airport starts just 50 metres across the hotel. Massage at the hotel is reasonable and some masseurs were really good. Only minor complaint is that the pool is too small!! Another suggestion is that the hotel should have some basic cutlery in the room.

Was given room based on requests made, non-smoking level, high level, early check-in. Hotel conveniently located. Room I got was clean and on the quiet side, hence not much noise interference.

Stayed in a Deluxe suite room for 3 nights. Beds are comfortable but not for extra bed added. The extra bed could be better but i guess it happens for most hotels. Breakfast spread is not bad but the same food for 3 consecutive mornings can be rather boring. Rooms are clean and temperature adjustable, so its a comfortable stay. Great for family.

Food was not too bad with quite a fair variety. Location is great except the lifts take ages sometimes...

I like this hotel, fit in our needs be it in size of room and price. Convenien for most outtings.

We had ordered the non-smoking room, but we got the smoky room.
Also we stayed in the hotel 1.4 day, but we pay for 2 days. Of cource it´s good for the hotel, but not for the their guests. We arrived in the hotel in 2.30 a.m and the hotel check in was 12 a.m., so we stayed 10 hours, but pay as for 24 hours.

Excelent breakfast but they should try and change the breakfast menu every few days. We stayed for 12 days and the breakfast can get quite boring after a while.

Like:
1) Firstly, the location is good. It is just located beside the Platinum. My sisters were crazy abt it...a haven for them. Unfortunately, the BTS (skytrain) is bit too far from the hotel.
2)The breakfast is good. my parent like it. But it repeated everyday. I stayed 4 nights there -.-"

Dislike:
1) The front desk must improve their service attitude. Me and my family never see they smile at all. Especially the night shift staff. Moreover, their attitude towards cauasians are totally different. They all so nice to the cauasians. I paid also, but different treats. "Thai - land of smile" ??

2)The card reader in the lift is not working well. Most of the time have to try few time before it read your door card and allow you to press the lift button to your room.

3) Dont speak with the manager when u want to complain. The manager only help his staff. And manager´s english is lousier than the staff.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere

Firstly, staff involved in the room service (both food and cleaning) have done an excellent job when i was there. However, what could be improved is the service attitude of the staffs at the front desk check in counter. I don´t think ive ever seen any of the front desk staff smile at all! even during my check in. that really puts me off during my check in. Nevertheless, the room service staff have helped me change my impression on the service of Grand Diamond. beakfast is perfect, there r more then 6choices of fruit juices inculding tomato juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, apple juice and coconut. overall i enjoy my 4d3n stay there, and would definitely go back again.

the bedroom door was locked and they dont have sparekey.I waited for almost 2 hours for them to open.The manager didnt said sorry for this mattera and a little bit rude.

the kichenette is extremely useful and thus makes the room feel like home since it is a separate room which is very hard to come by when one books a normal hotel room.

The hotel is located next to Platimum Mall which is a wholesale mall for clothes at bargain price. If you like electronic goods, there is a Pantip Mall a few steps away. Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast selection is good. The only small compliant is that the door card reader in the lift is not working well, most of the time it take a few try before it read your door card and allow you to press the lift button to your room.

Like the breakfast spread. It would be excellent
if the skytrain is nearby.
