Staff great - facilities tired
by KEVIN MAHER from Australia
Staff always helpful and friendly particularly reception, bellboys, cleaners, and room service. Hotel is old and tired. A major problem is the poor lighting in the room. Too dull to read by. It is no good being environmentally concsious if guests do not return.

Stayed here for one night after arrival in Bangkok and then returned 1 week later and stayed for 5 nights. The best value for money hotel I've stayed in in Bangkok. Good location and comfortable rooms, food fine but only had breakfast there.

The hotel TV needs replacement. The hotel is clean but the only thing is the location of the hotel which is way down south in Sukhmavit 103 or Undun Suk area and takes about 1 hour by bus to Metro Bangkok, but the buses are confortable and airconditioned. Remember to get your Map of Bangkok at the departure hall at Daun Muang Airport with the bus routes indicated. It is cheaper to take the bus to any part of Bangkok. . It costs about 20 Baht from the airport to the town centre or to the Railway station. And about 100 Baht to Pataya or Kanchinapuri by express bus.
nice frontage and lobby, but nothing else was good
this hotel looks smart at the front, the lobby has a nice feel to it. the bellboy was helpful too. however it is in a scruffy side street and the rooms are not any better.after seeing the room i asked the receptionist if they had any nicer ones, she replied that this was a nicer room!i was greeted by a large cockroach in the scruffy bathroom. the shower was virtually unusable, stains on bedding, dirty marks on walls etc. air con worked to a fashion but only when you were in the room. restaurant food poor. service charge and 10% added to bill. mixed grill on menu was not a mixed grill as we know it in uk. to sum it up, yes it was only 1000 baht a night[room only] about £15, but im glad we only had two nights there. would not recommend to anyone. oh there was a large massage establishment over the road[previously the old niran] finally the exchange rate was a rip off 57 baht to the pound[elsewhere was 67]
