Great big hotel in the middle of old Bangkok. The room was very nice and the service was great. The facilities such as pool and bar and reception were very good, very helpful and the pool and bar terrace has an amazing view of Bangkok to chill out and watch on.

bad service
by kathrine from Tallinn, Estonia
Feb 2, 2011
Rooms were clean and spacious, but service not very friendly. Breakfast room was huge but had no vacancy and clean plates and they already tried to kick you out at 9.30 with starting to ring the bells... They book 1000 Bahts from your credit card when checking in, not enough personel at the reception to serve you and not enough elevators. Not easy to pay by a card- sometimes it works , sometimes not. In the evenings not very easy access to restaurants- there is nothing nearby except the hotel restaurants. The only possibility is Taxi or tuk-tuk.

Reasonable for the price, but better available

Stayed here for 3 days end of aug 10, nice big impressive hotel, big open spaces and big long corridors, good pools, good gym which you have to pay to use 300 baht per session, (rip off).
If you like to have a drink late at night in the hotel (from 11pm) dont stay here!! Picaddilly pub was empty, blankets and buckets on the floor collecting all the water leaking in through the sloped glass windows, bar was not stocked and no staff there at 11pm on first night I went to it and it was locked day and night for the rest of the stay, the Coconut pool bar would not serve any drink after 11.10pm when I walked in, was told to go up to 31st floor bar, went up there and was told there was a private function, not allowed in, but host offered me drinks menu to have a drink in the restaurant beside the bar, which I thought was fair enough, ordered a bottle of beer and a hennessy cognac, waited ten minutes, host came back explained had no hennessy, so I said forget it,its ok, went to nearby 7/11 but no drink sold after midnight, went back to room and had a can from minibar, I'm not a drinking person but when on holiday I like to have a quite drink before i go to bed around 11 or midnight, but alas not in this hotel.
Breakfast was just reasonable, not a great choice.
Shopping around the hotel is just ok, no brand names and locals overcharge the tourist as per usual, shopping in pratunam around Baiyoke Sky is much better and we ended up going over there everyday, not much choice of anywhere to eat around this area. poor location.
Laundry charges are excessive for a hotel and staff were not very helpful. The two bedroom suites are ok, small bedrooms medium sized living room/kitchen area.If you want long walks to your room through big empty corridoors this is the hotel.
Taxi staff at the door are really annoying.
We usually stay over in pratunam and it is a much better area, we won't be staying at this hotel again.
It seems to be aimed more towards the business traveler rather than familys on holiday.

The location was pretty good, right between the city center/siam square and kao san road, wat po, king palace... we had a own boat station!!! great!
the rooms are very old and the staff was not friendly. each day we recieved 2 bottles of water for free. at the last day I brought my bottle to the pool and forgot to bring the bottle back to our room.
when we checked out, they sended the roommaid to our room to check if everything is alright. then they told us, that they miss one of the free bottles of water. and because the bottle was not in the room, we had to pay for it!!!

dislike : first time I have to pay an advance for the minibar... At check in they ask you to pay 1000 Bath upfront...
The breakfast room is really busy. Lots of choice but lousy service. The way they throw people out at 10h00 sharp is pretty german style, unfriendly.
The terrace and swimming pool are fine, a surprise in Bangkok.
Not a bad experience but I will keep looking for a better place. At least is ever I go to BKK again for more than one night, because the pollution plus temperature make BKK to a hell.
Not very Thei either. Hard to find a Thai smile in BKK, including in this hotel

Mar 16, 2008
we stood 5 days in Feb 2008 there. Nice is the bobae-nigh-market only 100 meters away from there and in the dame building the textil-market over some floors. Any kind of clothes, most must buy 3 pieces to get a better price, but up to you...
the location by hotel is not so central but there is a nice other way to "escape": take a taxi-boat by the klong at the hotel. For the price of 10 baht you can move near to pratunam-market (bayoke-hotel-complex).
Room was clean but simple, ok for the price. Breakfast we had outside at the place near the swimming-pool. Nice if not coming to late an th sun is too hot...
Choice of food by breakfast was to 90% asian food, but you stay in thailnd...
By using one of the swimming pools take better the one which is one floor higher as this by the pool-bar (often complete early). Not so much people but only 12 sunchairs...
Over all, this hotel we will book later again!

Great Location, Great Hotel!
by Vanessa Lidgard from Australia

The Prince Palace was a lovely hotel to stay at. We booked an Executive Suite (One bedroom apartment). We had a seperate lounge and bedroom which was just what we needed after 8 nights squished in a hotel sized room in Phuket. The staff were very friendly and confirmed our flights for us etc. We checked out at 2/3pm with no extra charge. The pool was lovely, the breakfast choices were plentiful, the room clean - everything was just delightful.
I would like to assure you that you will not be disappointed.
It costs about 100 baht max to get anywhere from here - tuk tuks are waiting at the front entrance and metered cabs are easy to grab from here also.
GO FOR IT!

Probably better for conferences and conventions, the hotel is laid out in several distinct buildings so to get to the spa, for example, one had to go outside. Room was comfortable, location not ideal given Bangkok traffic but a reasonable value overall.

The service was friendly, helpful, and willing to do whatever was necessary to make you at home. the food was good however the rooms could have been better than what they were. Also the fact that they changed the television channels at certain times was irritating. The fact that they did it at all was aggravating when you were watching a movie it would change and they would not change it back. Other than that i enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Very good hotel. Everything was nice besides that there was an enormeuse stain on the wall between the room and the bathroom and the wallpaper came off. Otherways, the room was fine, with a nice bathroom and excellent view of Bangkok and of the rather small but really nice hotel swimming pool. Great breakfast buffet (large choice). We took an excursion to the khlongs at the hotel reception and it was fine, not too expensive (we negociated a little). When I booked this hotel there was a promotion and we were supposed to have a free lunch buffet for a 2 nights stay but we didn´t have it.

Aug 23, 2006
The surerior room i booked for was excellent, but i had to ask for it, because first we´ve got a very small (and cheaper) room, the reason was that i asked for a double bed and surerior rooms have twins beds, but they could have tell me first. The hotel has 4 towers and many places to go, like 2 nice swimming pools . You can really walk around and that´s good, because the neighbourhood has nothing but shops for clothes; no reastaurants, no bars, no other hotels. The hotel is very big and beautifull and needs very much security, we didn´t like that to much, you feel observed all the time. My partner is Thai, serious relationship, we checked in together, first 2 days everything ok, but than we came home and were followed by a security man till our room, he was writing down our room number and everything in front of me, i asked him why, no reply and he went to call the staff. I went to the reception and they told me it was for my safety, i really didn´t believe this, they could have checked everything in the computer, i don´t have (and want) to know, but not like this. So if you are not Thai and have a Thai partner, prepare yourself you can be treated like customer and hooker, they don´t tell you like that, but it´s the feeling you will have. But speaking about the hotel only; it´s very nice.

Really nice place, just beside a wholesale shopping centre. 5 to 30 minutes drive away from the main town area depending on traffic conditions. However, if you plan your day well and avoid the traffic, its a great hotel. Really worth the money. Good breakfast too. Rooms are generally clean and hygenic. Place can be easily referred to as BoBae Towers to taxi drivers and most of them know and are willing to drive you on meter. =) Overall a great deal.

Really nice. Loved every second of it but woulden´t recommend using the hotel facilities. Way too expencive. Laundry 750 tb. I got same for 150 at a laundry. The minibar is also another rip-off. Same goes for limousine etc and all other hotel facilities I checked. Also a little troublesome bringing friends to the hotel. They will charge extra (6-700tb) but the trick is book a double room (same price) goes for most hotels in this class I believe.
Another problem is of course, if you bring a ´friend´ then she never want to go home again.
But I can live with that ;)
Overall, I´ll be back!

I especially liked the spaghetti bolognese that I ordered from room service. It tasted excellent, and I coulndt have enough of it. The location of the hotel was a little further away from the sky train than i thought but it was solved easily with a tuk tuk. Good price except for the poolside bar, where we payed almost 200 THB for two water! It is more expensive than the spaghetti bolognese that we ordered from room service, and thats only water! But everything else was just excellent.

Good location for wholesale garment shopping
by Jason SEET Chee Keong from Singapore
Jan 6, 2006
Pros:
- Relatively tall, so good chance for a room with a good view
- It´s actually quite convenient to travel around; you can take a water taxi at the doorstop to Pratunam and Siam Centre
- Great for wholesale garment shopping in Bo Bae Tower (prices are cheaper than Pratunam, and shopping is in air-cond environment and less crowded)
- Good street food nearby the market, and the market provides supply of fresh fruits and local prices
Cons:
- Hotel staff speaks limited English, and are helpful only if you ask (except for the rare few)
- Different receptions for the old and new tower; really confusing
- Buffet breakfast is not that good (limited choices) but the buffet lunch was quite good
- Small pool
- Room not very clean (carpet was sticky and this was the new tower)
- TV has limited English channels, and TV reception was bad
Summary:
I would stay there again for the convenience and Bo Bae Tower garment wholesale. But if there´s an equivalent hotel in town that is available for the same price, I´d try the other hotel first.

by HARADA from Japan
Dec 28, 2005
Room size and cleanliness were OK. Room safe was out of order, mey be the perticular room I stayed. Early in the morning (around 6:30), dishes for breakfast were not warmed up. Bariety was good. Hotel limo was THB700 the bell informed and they didn´t call a Taxi. I took a Taxy just outside of the hotel, it took THB200 to the Airport. Poor Bell captain. Bus stop, BTS and Metro station are a bit far. Boat was the best transportation to main activities near Pratunam area, however, it may be dangerous for elders and kids. It is excellent for young tourists because there is no traffic jam.
