Lovely hotel and the room is very clean and comfortable with fast wifi, the area is quiet thus making it a pleasure to stay there. The location is also a good, short walk to night bazaar markets. Staff very friendly.

The location is good and convenient. But the staff lack communication skills. I was promised shuttle to the airport when I queried, but when I checked out at 4.30 am, I was told to get my own transportation.

I stayed at the terrace wings of this hotel which has no lift access. The description of the hotel has already stated so when i made the booking thus it was no surprise.

When I arrived at this hotel, it was a pleasant surprise that they have their own drive in and drop off point, similar to bigger (and more expensive) hotels. The hotel compound is also quite safe as there were security guards within the compound.

In the room, there were a living room + toilet + bedroom. The furnishing were abit old and the bed was creaking but the hotel unit was spacious. No wifi in the room; I had to walk over to the hotel lobby to log onto their wireless network. There was a boiler to heat up water, refrigerator and a microwave. Very convenient!

Complimentary breakfast was available at the 2nd floor of the main building. The offerings were of the usual fare (continental or american or asian). Variety were predictable.

Location of the hotel is about 10mins walk from the Night Bazaar and about 5mins walk to the Southern West Corner of the "Old Walled City".

Front desk staff were able to communicate in good English and were very accommodating and friendly in all aspects.

Good comfortable hotel

Breakfast mainly catered for foreigners my wife and children are Thai and were really uninspired by the breakfast selection. The hotel in general though was good, rooms comfortable and clean and the location close to the centre of activities. Would stay again, if breakfast selection improves.

High Class Hotel at a excellent price.

I was very satisfied with my stay at the Maninarakorn Hotel and I would give great recommendation, its very clean with well fitted out decor and great value for money with a buffet breakfast included, my only complaint is that that king sized bed was actually 2 single beds joined together.

Good location away from the noise of bars and shopping centres yet close enough to walk to various destinations wihtin the tourist belt.

Hotel provided good value comfort. Location was perfect. Staff were polite and helpful. Some minor improvements to be made - swimming pool needs better care and maintenance; inconsistent hot water supply in showers made it difficult to enjoy a nice shower after a long day. These are only minor issues which I think the hotel can rectify quickly so that guests can return to enjoy its hospitality.

The hotel & rooms were very clean, all the staff were excellent & the location is not bad, quite near the daily night market. My only grumble is that the supply of breakfast food was almost all gone, even though I turned up with over half an hour left of beakfast serving. However, I shall not allow this stop me staying here again, next time I visit Chiang Mai.

Good location, Good Staff, but Some Issues With the Stay

by Mr Silom from Bangkok

The hotel is in a good location.

The room was a Deluxe Room, but the King Bed was 2 x Singles bolted together and you could feel the gap in the middle! Terrible pillows.

Breakfast was average.

Staff were good.

The gym was rubbish. No remote to turn on a/c, running machine not working, other equipment cheap and nasty..Typical of Thailand Fitness Centres at Condos and Hotels.

No real bar.

When I checked out I asked the Front Desk to ring me a metered taxi to the airport. On the way to the airport I noticed the meter had not been turned on. When we got to the airport I asked the price and the driver said 150 baht. I went balistic as the meter taxi to the hotel when I arrived was only 70 baht. He said it was because the hotel had ordered him..I gave up arguing as I have lived in Thailand for 3 years now and knew someone in the hotel was getting a piece of the fare under the table - Thai corruption again! Very disappointing end to a nice holiday in a nice town. But, then again don't come to Thailand unless you are willing to be ripped off.

I have been to Chiang Mai 3 times now and I would probably not stay here again.

Overall of this hotel is fine but i´d like to comment a little bit about room at terrace zone. The temp of water is only cold, the machine is not working. And the way to go to room is too far, and no elevator so u have to go up by stairs. I think the room at hotel side is much better.
