Feb 05 Five day stay at Pornping Tower in Chiang Mai. Top floor restaurant excellent service, good menu, reasonable price, but underused.-pianist good. Buffet breakfast extensive and well organised. Room clean, good linen. Pool a bit murky, plenty of towels! Will stay again in Pornping Tower Hotel in ´06

At the Porn Ping Tower where we stayed on our last visit to Chiang Mai they charged 800 Baht for the double, breakfast-buffet included. The rooms have air condition, TV and mini bar and there is a nice swimming pool on the 3rd or 4th floor. The only problem is the hall in front of the breakfast room, which is only some 2 metres high with occasional beams in the ceiling that leave a height of 1.80m only, definitively too low for many tourists.

There is very little meaning in sharing your opinion on whether a hotel is good or bad if you do not speak in relative to the price. It is definitely an very average hotel, the furnishing in the room are dated in design and condition. However, if you are looking for a comfortable and clean place to stay, at this price it represents good value for the Pornping Tower in Chiang Mai. It has great location being 2 minutes away from Night Bazzar. Amenities are great too with mini-mart and thai traditional massage at door step you can´t really complain too much.

The view on the back side of the building isn´t very nice.
The room wasn´t anything special and not terribly clean.
The breakfast food was decent.
The first night I stayed there was a very loud party next to the pool. I could hear the P.A. system very clearly in my room and it was impossible to sleep until the party was over.

location and breakfast is best selling points. new tower is much better rooms than the front tower. It would be great if the cafe marker is available like the description of the hotel promised in the net. Or go ahead to delete the amminity if there is no coffer marker at all, so there will be no expectation.
