Baan Talay Chine Boutique Hotel

Very welcoming, the manager couldn´t do enough for us and spoke excellent english, the service of all the staff was brilliant and there is free wifi throughout, this was a relatively new small boutique hotel with 6 suites, some with dip pools we actually tried both the smaller upstairs Pheonix room with large balcony and the Happiness room with dip pool, continental breakfast was nice served outside your rooms and slightly differed daily. The location was adjacent to the King´s summer palace and a stone´s throw from the beach which was usually quiet with only a couple of locals to keep you company. The main tourist beach was either a walk along the beach to the Hilton or a moped ride to the main drag approx 200 Baht a day(£3)to hire, although taxi´s (normal and moped) and tuktuk´s were readily available

I stayed in this delightful little B&B style place in late July 2007. For me, it was perfect -- not in the center of town, so not too hectic, but near enough that i could get there with a good walk, or a bike ride, or the readily available transport. The decor is unique -- the owners live in China, and the entire design them, reflected in the name, is old-fashioned Chinese. The furniture and fixtures are all imported. Most of the rooms have their own plunge pools, and the hotel is in a nice little residential district, right next to a temple. I recommend this place highly for those who want to be a bit away from it all, yet close enough for convenient access to the quaint little seaside restaurants (one stunning outdoor place is five minutes´ walk).
