Mida Resort Kanchanaburi

The setting for Xen hideaway could not have been more picturesque. A very quiet, relaxing and scenic place to spend some time relaxing by the pool. Relaxing by the pool is pretty much the only thing there is to do here. The hotel was drastically under staffed and those that were available were not much help at all. In the in room menu/information folder, they claim to be able to provide rental cars. The man behind reception replied "mai dai" then muttered to a colleage something about "farang". The swimming pool was lovely, very big and well designed. By 11am the pool had ran out of towels and when i asked the staff for more, non were forthcoming until 4pm!!! The breakfast was ok. Unfortunately the salad was left to dry out in the sun and the milk for cereal was also warm.
Overall a pretty dissapointing stay, which is a shame because it is such a beautiful place.
Only stay here if you have your own transport! The hotel charges 1,200 baht for a round trip to town and does not provide rental cars.
