A relaxing haven
The hotel has beautiful, well maintained and tranquil gardens overlooking the river, including views of the famous Bridge over the River Kwai.
The staff were friendly and the hotel restaurant provided excellent food. Would recommend a stay.

Comfortable and beautiful place to stay

A wonderful hotel with really spaceous rooms. A very big balcony with nice view to the rock garden and the little lake (we chosed the cheapest room with garden view). Dark wooden panels on the floor, a giant bathroom, very spaceous kingsize bed, spotless clean.
The pool and the garden are like paradise.....
We enjoyed our stay! And we will return one time!
Only one little thing is not the best: the hotel is about 6 km away from Kanchanaburi town and the taxi (= tuktuk) know that it's too far to walk in the heat of the day or in darkness and we had to pay for every transportation between 100 (only 1 time) and 200 baht (mostly). From hotel to town it's necessary to call a taxi, there is no possibility to find one. The own taxi from hotel must be reserved in advance and costs 60 baht per person and requires a minimum of 3 pax. So - if you go with 2 persons you have to pay 180 baht.
Lovely hotel ... but oh! the noise.
by Kurt H Nolte from Thailand
The rooms were excellent, the view of the river lovely, the grounds very attractive, and the food good. We had a huge balcony overlooking the tranquil river, and on our first evening were looking forward to a quiet interlude, sharing a bottle of wine as night fell. Unfortunately, the peace was shattered as early as 5pm by a cacophony of competing bar/restaurant noise (music?) a short way downriver near the famous bridge. This appalling noise continued until midnight without a break and totally ruined our stay at this hotel. We were warned about the floating discos which are pulled up and down the river on weekends, but this was a Sunday and Monday night , and the noise was coming from fixed locations. I assume it´s the same every night of the year. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again and will NOT recommend it to anyone, which is a great pity, as the hotel itself is very nice.
