Good location - very quite and relaxing.
The two bed 'villa' was fine, albeit a bit basic. It seemed like a lot of the units were privately owned, which made the place really quiet - a good thing in many respects, but weird when you are the only family in the restaurant for three days!
The park tours can be flexible, if you don't want to to be out for a 13 hour day. The problem is, they charge the same fee, which is too much to begin with. Shame really - more flexibility needed. If I was going back, I'd rent a car, for more 'independence'.
Absent management

This place is really pretty and clean. Two problems. One, the food is too expensive. Two, the manager doesn't seem to be around and the people who are there have no common business sense. We got there booked a full-day tour for the next day. After a couple of hours out, we got back and they told us that the tour wasn't actually going the next day. So we asked if we could call another place whose brochure we got to see if we could go with them. Sure they said - but it would cost money for every minute of phone call!! Outrageous. This was their fault. We did set up a tour with the other folks. Then we asked if we could get a ride to them in the morning. That would have been 300 baht! This is way too much. We had to call the other people back to arrange to have them pick us up. These other folks charged us 200 baht to come get us AND take us back. Plus they came and got us the next morning so we could go back to the bus station - for nothing! This is the kind of service Eco Valley Lodge should have provided. This is what makes people come back. We felt like we were being held hostage!
Nice tours but overpriced ... and a horrible location
by Peter Gaskill from New York, United States
The Khao Yai Eco Valley Lodge is a reasonably attractive hotel, with nice rooms, a friendly staff and very good room rates. However, the hotel has a terrible location, quite far from both Khao Yai and even Pak Chong, and charges an unreasonable amount to get into town. The food and drink at the resort is relatively expensive compared with other Thai food and in addition, while the tours and programs on offer are excellent, they are quite expensive (2700 baht for a day tour of Khao Yai). If you have your own transportation, this would be an ideal hotel, but if you are looking to save money by staying here, go somewhere else ... and if money is no object, stay somewhere nicer.
Quite place, I like it.

Service is excellent.
Room is not clean enough, fan and some lamp are not worked.
Food price is quite high, maybe it for serving to foreigner because almost visitors are foreigners.
Great value for money in Khao yai

We enjoyed our stay here having steaye din a fewo other places nearby. The location was peaceful but a drawback for us was the unmade road up to the hotel as we ride a motorbike! the road is being made and so in future this should not be a problem. The room was simple but comfy and clean. Breakfast was not invluded but the continental was ample at 115 baht and include lovely fresh bread. Staff were helpful and happy to cook vegetarian recipes for us. The ambience was very mediteranean and it some ways it did not feel like Thailand at all.
Good value for money and extremely quiet !

The rooms were average, but that´s OK because we spend the whole days in the park. The doors don´t close perfectly so beware of mosquitos.
Very remote and quiet place. Excellent food and excellent guide to tour the park. Will come again.
