The Emerald Cove Koh Chang (Formerly Amari Emerald Cove Resort Koh Chang)

Room was fab over looking the pool and the sea, when it got dark the trees all had fairy lights which made it look very romantic. Breakfast was excellent - wide choice - European and Asian food.
The hotel was 5 star and had 5 star prices, venture out for meals and drinks within 100m you have loads of choices at a quarter of the price and the food was very tasty and enjoyable. Transport to the hotel from the airport was very easy and well organised at the airport arrival area.

Service here is excellent. We had problems with our reservation, thanks to Hotels2thailand, and the staff handled it superbly. This attitude remained throughout our stay. Service is prompt and the staff really seems to take pride in the hotel. The property and ambiance of the place is great, given the limited space. At night especially with its beautiful orange lanterns and trees lit in white lights, the place is pretty spectacular, and you can forget that the main road is a couple of hundred meters behind the hotel.

Very relaxing stay

The breakfast was very nice, including Asian variety and Western variety as well as an egg station. The hotel has a lovely large swimming pool with adequate beds around, on the grass area and on the beach which is nice and clean. The bar does happy hour drinks before sunset and it is lovely to sit and have a cocktail by the pool overlooking the lovely sunsets. You can walk along the beach from the hotel to other bars, restaurants and hotels which are next door. We visited the one which had a barbecue on the beach, but still preferred the food in our hotel. There are also local restaurants and bars along the strip outside the back of the hotel.

Very relaxing stay

I stayed at the Amari Emerald Cove for a week in Jan 2012.
The room was gorgeous, very comfy beds, lovely big shower and sofa area. The pool area is divine, with large fresh towels daily and always plenty of sunbeds to go round. The beach area was like a mini paradise making it easy to lose yourself in the serenity beneath the giant palms lazing on a hammock.
The dining at the hotel is great. The breakfast buffet has virtually everything to offer that you would expect and a lot more. You don't need to have lunch until late in the afternoon! At lunch time thai cuisine, pasta, pizza or hamburgers are served at the terrace next to the pool. Good quality to reasonable prices, even though they are high compared to the traditional Thai restaurants nearby. At night there are a Thai restaurant and an Italian restaurant open at the hotel. The Italian restaurant is very good but expensive. I did not try the Thai restaurant. There are a couple of nice restaurants nearby as well, both on the beach and close to the hotel entrance from the main road.
