Was a great week staying at the resort (Feb' 09). I was specifically looking for a reasonably priced place to stay with rooms having ocean view at Kai Bae beach and was happy about going there.
The hotel rooms are having a nice view over a palm garden to the sea - and since a sundowner on a balcony is something I like, I was already impressed. The resort is not a new one, but I can confirm the hotel rooms to maintained and clean, still with one or the other minor thing not working. Had to change room due to some leakage of bathtub (... ok, that is not minor, but it was due to get replaced anyway ...) that's why I can compare two rooms and am positive about them.
In an attempt to preserve nature the resort owns the already mentioned palm tree garden, there is a pond with some ducks and goose, a happy - but single - peacock is walking around and I liked all this very much. Apparently some guests do not share my appreciation and complain about animals making noise. Well - isn't that what nature is about ...? Haven't head anyone complaining about the seas's waves ...
Having seen the bungalows from the outside only, they appeared to me to be quite small and narrowly built next to each other - having no seaview at all. The rate seems alright to me, but I would not want to rent one ... The suites (only seen fromthe outside as well) are alright - and the large one are located directly at the beach. I think a very good pick for bigger groups travelling!
Only had breakfast in the resort and don't think there is anything special about it. Reasonable choice, not much change during the week - but may be it is me, who always eats the same in the morning.
This resort has one of the not too many (private) beaches with sand on Koh Chang. But I prefered taking a swim in the pools. High and low tide of the sea reminded me of the North Sea in Germany - that I never enjoyed much due to mud and smell. Nothing wrong with the resort, this goes for all West Coast accomodation on Koh Chang!
Big "Well done" to management and staff. Really polite, helpful and friendly.
Overall I think the resort offers excellent value for money, keeping in mind it is only a three star resort.

Tried the cheaper rooms, but was disappointed: very small, old and not very clean. not even a chair. Rooms in the main building are much larger and more comfortable when you stay a week. Breakfast was just ok, good variety but some things not so fresh...
