Nice

It is a quaint and beautiful little hideaway in the end of Bang Po beach. It is only a little scotter drive (which we rented at a resort) from the bars, restaurants, shops,... The staff is friendly and helpful, specially mrs. Venus, which arranged everything we needed for the time of staying. The pool atmosphere is small but tranquil. Villas are roomy and comfortable (exerpt bed, it was little too hard for us), very nice designed. There is a computer in the lobby with free internet and the resort also have a FREE WIFI. We also received free bottled water daily. One minute from the resort is a 7/11 store, very helpful for some extra things.

My idea of Paradise!
by Jennifer from Leeds

I spent three weeks at Penalee, escaping the British winter!! And I would have stayed longer if I didn't have commitments in the UK. I could not fault anything about this place, it was my idea of paradise! Twelve thatched bungalows set in tropical gardens, arranged around the swimming pool, none of them overlooking each other. During my visit I stayed in several of the villas, and all of them were comfortable, spotlessly clean and with good sized accommodation. The only drawback to Penalee is that to get to the beach you have to cross the road, but once on the beach you will be amazed to find you are probably the only person there! Yes, it is that wonderful! Like a dream come true for me. The resort is family run and all the staff are efficient, pleasant and very helpful and although they don't all speak English, they manage to help. During my stay I needed to use the internet and there were a couple of British business people working there, away from the office where they could get on with work using the wi fi in reception or their rooms. I would not recommend Penalee if you want a rowdy holiday with lots of entertainment and lively goings on, nor would I recommend it for children. It is ideal for couples, seniors or single people. This was the first holiday I had taken by myself and I felt totally at home there and intend to return at the earliest opportunity. The more popular resorts are about half an hour'd drive away, or you can take a bus which stops outside the gates. If you need to go shopping there is a convenience store a 5 minute walk away or a Tesco (yes Tesco!) supermarket and a shopping mall about half an hour's drive away. This was my first visit to Koh Samui and I loved the place, but I am sure this was largely due to Penalee as it was such a perfect location for me.
