An excellent hotel with very willing staff and excellent food both for breakfast and other meals, good room service. Very good value (£110 GBP per week in Feb 2010 - double room including breakfast) for nice room, air-con and pleasant view of the river.
The main thing that lets it down is that NOBODY speaks any language other than THAI, and even BASIC English was neither understood nor spoken. I was fortunate to have a friend who spoke both Thai and English. Hence there were very few if any, foreigners staying there.
River bus takes one hour to get to Bangkok centre (18 Baht each way - take taxi to boat station (37 Baht) last boat from Saphkan Taksin(Sky Train) 8pm Mon-Fri, 7.30 on Sat
We will have learn the language better!!
