Montien Pattaya Hotel

We stayed Feb 2012 for 14 nights including breakfast. We have stayed here several times and had various room types. On this occasion we where allocated 7th floor with great sea view. Disappointed that we had to have a twin (2 x double) in stead of 1 super king, as this reduces space in room and if you intend to use only 1 bed it is a standard double size. The hotel does have rooms with 1 super king but hotel was fully booked so no choice on this occasion. Internet is 300 baht per day (24 hours) and is not wi-fi but supplied through standard Ethernet cable and a slow speed connection. Other local hotels charge exactly same and some even more so this seems to be the going Rate. The hotel is clearly well maintained but is now showing considerable signs of age and needs bathrooms and balcony doors updating. All beds and furnishing are comfortable and well maintained. I consider this hotel to be overpriced for the quality of its rooms now, however is you search well through booking agents you can always pick up a good deal. The only downside to the Montien is the high number of Russian tourists staying here. We find Russian tourists extremely arrogant and rude to everyone.

The hotel is very convenient and is located in the heart of pattaya. Although the room is very old and got a little bie smell. I think if they renovate the room, this hotel would be one of the best and value for money.
