Baan Khaolak Resort Phang Nga Reviews

Hotel is really clean and spacious even though we stayed in a 2-storey cottage (the cheapest room available). Pretty new hotel, opened in 3rd Quarter 2007.Staff are friendly but some need to improve their English. Breakfast has a fair selection of food. Good location on the beach front as it´s near the end of the beach where it is less crowded. It is also conveniently located near town for shopping and food, only a comfortable 5 min walk. Do try the Thai massage at the hotel, which is located on the 2nd storey pavillion near the poolside. Price is really reasonable (similar to those offered in town) and you get to enjoy the sea breeze and hear the waves!Pool is beautiful but a little small, length is abt 15m. But the beach is just so nearby, so it´s not a big issue. Many lounge chairs/beds available and there´s no need to wake up early to reserve one.Be prepared to pay for internet usage though.Would definitely recommend this hotel to couples going to Khaolak. There are quite a few families with young children at the hotel so I guess the hotel is also suitable for families!Book tours at vendors in the town for a better deal. We got our cab at the Phuket airport to the hotel at 1000 THB, a really good deal as most cabbies would offer 1300 THB. Shopping in Khaolak is definitely cheaper (abt 2 times cheaper)and more enjoyable than in Phuket. If you´re travelling to Phuket after Khaolak, you could try taking the local bus. It´s air-conditioned and only 100THB per person one way. It takes you to Phuket town where you can then take a tuktuk to Patong for abt 400 THB. We enjoyed some good local food (no english) at a restuarant near the bus terminal at Phuket Town. I was really glad to have chosen Bann Khaolak and I enjoyed my stay there very much.
