Good for the low budget traveller who still wants a nice hotel

The pool was beautiful. If we hadn´t met the band on the first night the music might have been irritating every night from 7:30-12:30. But the band is very friendly and so is the staff. The room was a little small and w/o A/C or hot water, but, not really that bad. I would go back.

The only dissapointment with the accommodation, the phone in the room didn´t work, although we reported this to reception on several occasions. Otherwise an excellent stay at Kata Gardens.

Dirty with bad service

The location of this hotel was very good, as it was a quick walk from the beach, however a number of other factors let it down.
When we arrived, we were put in a room with two single beds. We had requested a king size bed. We pointed this out to the staff, who said a room with a king-size bed would become available at 1pm (about 1.5 hours away), and could we come back then. We went off and had some lunch, however at 2pm, the room was still not ready. They then eventually found us another room with a king size bed.
The room itself was dirty. Louvres on doors and shelves had not been dusted for a long time. In the few places where dusting had occured, only the centre had been dusted, so you could see piles of dust in the corners. There was sticky red stuf spilt in the fridge. The bed sheets were clean but had holes in them. The towels were once white but are know a grey colour. Outsite our door, the entrance was dirty, with bits of rubbish pressed into the decking.
Room service came every daya nd replaced our sheets and towels, however some days we were given only one fresh towel.
The gardens were nice and the pool was also nice (with lots of beach towels available from reception). However, overall this hotel was very diappointing and is definitely not up to expectations. We only stayed on because all of our friends were also booked there for a wedding. Otherwise we would have moved out.
