Nice Kata Hotel

My girlfriend and I stayed here for six nights in May 2009. I liked the place, thought it good value for money and would happily stay here again. Its well located, and is perhaps 4 or 5 minutes walk away from the beach. All the services we needed throughout our stay, laundry, convenience stores, eateries etc were all within a very short walking distance. Our intitial room was right on the road and was quite noisy but staff were happy to swap our room to one that was very peaceful. Our room was clean and equipped with standard fittings, air con, tv, fridge etc. Wireless internet is available within the room, always nice. Staff were helpful and attentive. People liking soft beds might find the beds too hard (my gf did), but I thought it was fine. All in all this is a place I recommend.

When you get more than you expect

We had made a reservation for two nights and all we were after was a clean cheap hotel as close to the beach as possible. What we got was this and more. The restaurant serves the best Thai food we have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Don´t order the western style food though. The staff was always friendly and willing to assist without being intrusive. The rooms were large with A/C and cable. They even had a indoor jacuzzi and sauna. We stayed for 8 days in total.

Great staff Great food

Kata Minta is a Basic Hotel, but the staff were fantastic, and made our holiday extra special, and the location is great, 5 min stroll to Kata Beach, shops and restaurants on the doorstep, they do have a great jacuzzie, and if you want you can use the pool at the Serene resort accross the road for 4/500bht for the length of your stay, Kata Minta is a home from home kinda place, loved it,

Friendly and helpful staff and good food

I liked the small hotel feel, plus the convenience of being to go up and down from my hotel room without having to walk through a long corridor or wait for an elevator. The location was quite convenient although the next door hotel was renovating when we were there so at times there were workers peering into our room that we had to keep the curtains drawn.
