My friend and I stayed here the first week of June for 5N. We loved how they infused Thai flavour into the modern architectural design. The website photos don't lie, at all! Very conveniently located to restaurants, cafes, clothes, shoes, bags, travel, beach, diving shops, massage places, hawker fare, 7-elevens, a minimart, a bank, etc. No need to even go to town (rates just as good once you bargain), but if you have the itch, the bus station is located just infront (was 25baht to Phuket Town, passes by Karon beach which is beautiful but not as lovely as Kata beach. Kata Beach has shady Palm trees, and we could even swim in the waters though it was monsoon season.)and so are lots of tuk tuks and other forms of transports parked there. Very safe, colourful night scene, though not as notorious or hectic as Patong's, but we prefered it such. Lovely restaurants around, but Jasmine Seafood Restaurant really is very good value for money. The breakfast was lovely, order from a menu of American, Continental or Thai set. Lots of options within each, generous servings, refills, and staff were very attentive. When my friend was sick, they even sent up breakfast to her. Twice!
Housekeeping was very friendly, spa staff very gracious, and night staff very helpful. The rooms were very beautifully furnished and comfortable. We loved the vibrant colours. We got upgraded to a Deluxe room for free though we paid for Superior rooms as the latter were under repairs. I could not have asked for more. Beautiful poolview, and very relaxing. Only drawback is that the bathtub (and the toilet too in fact) is partitioned from the bedroom by only a frosted flush with bathtub doors - so offers little privacy. Nice for couples especially those on honeymoon, but we were 2 lady friends only. Appreciated the inroom safe, 2 complimentary 600ml bottled waters daily, electric kettle, flipflops, beach towels, bathrobes, and the comfy sofa beds etc. They also sent up a plate of nice complimentary Thai desserts each night of our stay. The pool is really nice (though not that big, it suffices), and the spa (only 2 rooms) though small is good. Our balcony was on the same level as the spa - looked right in, but they draw curtains when have customers. Sauna was ok, the steam room was not working then, jacuzzi was real nice, and the pool deck was great. Poolside bar was good too. Very good planning and use of limited space.
By the way, the Superior block has no lift or bathtub (thus no frosted doors/windows), has a microwave (big plus), and is above the restaurants, so loud music streams in especially during the late evenings. But the balcony doors are quite sound proof though it may not eliminate all noise. Entry is through the small carpark. It overlooks the shops and the hotel entrance.
