Casual atmosphere is very calm, not chaotic, beautiful gardens, ideal for relaxing beach bathroom a bit old. The open-style bathrooms.
Accommodation on the beach, no road block. Swimming pool is there for people who do not like swimming.
Clean rooms, polite staff, good seafood. Delicious food, affordable prices and we will come back here again.

Staffing problems

This place is a great little get-a-way from Bangkok, just 2 - 2 1/2 hours by car. Rooms are OK, nice small swimming pool, Food ok.
The only problem with this place is STAFF, not helpfull, not because of the language problem as there wasn't one ! ( Can speak Thai, with Thai wife ) it was due to total lack of politeness.

What a Location

I was looking for a very quiet off the beaten path hotel and this is it. You will need to use some form of transportation to get anywhere from here. It is right out the room to a spotless beach or the pool it was super except for the lack of a kiddie pool.
The facilities and grounds were beautiful the setting was something special. For its age the room was in good shape well maintained and nice and clean. A tropical garden runs throughout the grounds is spotless with not 1 leaf out of place.
The disappointments started with the hotel restaurant as they were out of several items the first day and had made no effort to restock as were still out on the 2ed day. With the limited selection they offer and there location that was not a good thing.
Then there were the all night parties that started at 10:00pm and carried on till the sun came up. The noise was just too much for this location and the staff did not do anything about it either night. Such a shame the staff at a nice place like this in such a wonderful setting would allow it to be spoiled by this type of activity. If it weren't for that I would be returning to this hotel again but not after those parties.

Wonderful location, spotless clean & noisy

This was just what I was looking for when I made the booking, off the beaten path and away from most the normal tourist traffic in this aria. It is located right on the beach without any road in between the cabana and the beach. The cabana was nice and very clean as were the grounds, beach and other facilities. My initial thought was I was going to have a couple of nice peaceful days here.
Unfortunately that turned out not to be the case and the disappointments started coming from the time I got to my cabana. I had booked a sea view cabana and only was able to see the sea over the 2 meter stone wall around the pool. They were constantly out of items on the menu and the meals were small and somewhat overpriced. The biggest disappointment came about 10:00pm when the music started and carried on until sunrise the next morning and this happened both nights that I was there. I was totally shocked that the management allowed this to happen in such a tranquil setting.
I definitely will not be returning to Bann Pae Cabana in the future.

if u like a quite relaxing place its a great hotel,out of 35 bungalows only 2 were occupied,the location is very lonely,no 7-11 or anything around for at least 3 km,beach looked not to nice,pool is great but only for adults or or older kids,,food in the hotel[roomservice]is cheap and good,the bungalow is very small and i think 1700 baht per night is far to much

We had a week at the Ban pae cabana, during a quiet period, in fact most of the time we had the resort to ourselves !
The location is beautiful and secluded (rooms just of the private beach), 15 minutes from Bann Pae centre (the hotel had motorbike for hire at a standard rate - which was really useful to get into town, other beaches and explore local markets) and access to Koh Samet.
The accommodation was amazing, traditional wooden rooms, on stilts (with great ´open-air´ ensuite bathrooms - a real novelty), well furnished and well maintained, and the cleaning staff were great.
The restaurant was excellent (even fussy Thai was happy), good choice of Thai food (some weastern), open most times and very reasonably priced (same price as local open air stalls).
In summary a great location with good accommodation and food, fantastic staff and very reasonable prices.
Would highly reccommend and would go back again.
