Wonderful Resort with outstanding Staff and food.

I stayed at Villa Bali resort on and off for 6 months while I was travelling Thailand. I initially arrived for a few days but couldn't drag myself away from the place. You could not meet friendlier more welcoming staff. Jon and Toi, the owners, and their daughter Tanya truly made me feel at home and I could not have wished for more when it came to service. They went massively out of there way on several occasions to make my stay an incredible one.
The resort overall is beautiful with a wonderful swimming pool and just a few steps away from the beach which is also one of the loveliest beaches I've been to in Thailand. It’s a gorgeous stretch of sand running approx 3 miles, with lots of pretty shacks and restaurants serving outstanding sea food. Mae Phim is famous for the sea food.
Villa Bali really comes up trumps when it comes to food also. Whether it's exquisite Thai food you're after or fabulous western food (the best pizza I've eaten baked in a wood fired oven built by Jon...and I've been to Italy a few times) you will not be disappointing. They also have chilled live music several nights of the week.
The accommodation is very pretty; Bali style bungalows with 4 poster beds and a stoned and tiled wet room with topical plants. Lovely verandas for sitting on late into the evening sipping a drink, and also high speed WIFI internet connection in the rooms which was brilliantly for me as I was working on my travels.
Mae Phim is also one of the best towns I’ve been to in Thailand. It has wonderful friendly people and a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s really all about the food, good company and the beautiful surroundings. It’s a real find and not on many western peoples radar.
There are also some great excursions that I went on through Undiscovered Thailand. I’d highly recommend the boat trip to Turtle Island run by Big Chris, a top host. It’s a great day out with lunch and drinks, a trip round a Turtle Sanctuary, Snorkelling or Scuba Diving and generally chilling on the best boat in the area. With several dips in the ocean and swims ashore to secluded beaches which really are undiscovered by virtually anyone, it really is a fabulous day out.
If you are venturing to Reyong, or really planning any trip to Thailand, Villa Bali is a must for anyone in the area, but watch out...you'll find it sooo hard to leave.

Bra läge men intet vatten i poolen!

Inget vatten i poolen!! Tur vi bara bokat en natt. Mycket mygg i en fin trädgård. Frukosten var OK. Läget vet vi inte så mycket om eftersom vi inte var där tillräckligt länge. Men stranden som ligger precis över vägen är fin med mycket thailändare som åker dit och slappar och äter gott. Det gjorde vi också!
