Been there year after year and the price/value ratio is more or less the same. They keep it well maintained. Times are tough and the only scrounging is around the once exquiste variety of protein like chicken at breakfast. That said, the rooms are spacious, big fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water, firm bed, thick towels, good A/C. Washrooms are ho hum and are slowly being spruced up.More than you need English cable TV. I'd stay there if I needed some peace away from the Khaosan road party scene. There access to the front desk is a bit lopsided as another building is under construction a few feet away.
Best value in that neck of the woods.

We got a deluxe room. The room is clean and spacious. It's very comfortable. The toilet though is a bit moldy and the shower room is very tiny. I always hurt bump myself into the faucet when I take a bath. But generally the hotel is good for the price, location, and excellent service. All the staff are very friendly. Once I had a problem with the aircon they fix it immediately. I would recommend this hotel for those who wants value for their money... And by the way the breakfast is good but they always serve the same food everyday. I suggest to have some variety. It would also be great if the internet charge can be lowered.. The taxi service to the airport is also very convenient. I would certainly choose this hotel the next time I visit Thailand...

We have chosen NWC hotel since 2004. For the price it is well run. In recent years it has been making improvements. The price they paid was to lower the variety of their Asian breakfast. Thia Jan there was no more chicken in the food, just veggies. Virtually the same food everyone of the 5 breakfasts. That said, they do better than most in their class. Very professional, smiling confidence and they try hard. Great, keep up the fine hospitality.

1) Difficult to locate,as it is off the main road, taxi drivers have no clues! 2) Construction work going on next to the hotel, too noisy. 3)Air conditioner in room is centrally controlled, very disvantageous! 4) No nearby BTS stations, deprived of train journey 5)But,overall,comfortable stay with excellent food & friendly staff. 6) Will definitely recommend this Hotel to others

New World is an excellently run hotel, i have stayed here three times now. This time they have had renovations done to the lobby and restaurant areas. The outdoor restaurant area is really nice and peaceful and a good place to have the excellent breakfast in the mornings. The rooms are very big and always spotlessly clean (we stayed in a deluxe room). The staff are very friendly and keen to help and some of them stop and have a chat with you. The hotel is only a short walk from Khao San Road but is still quiet on a night. Overall it´s excellent value for money. It´s a very friendly run hotel and i would definately recommend it and will be staying there again when i go back.

good value, and staff. Showers, as people have said not perfect, but only the pressure. More than adequate. Will stay here every time I´m in Bangkok, unless I want to waste money.

Good location. within walking distance of Koh sun road and the rest of the some of the attractions offered in the city. Water canal in front of the Hotel can use a major clean up as the water is polluted and smells. by Wally Urff from Saskatoon,Canada (March 16, 2007)

Location was great. Rooms were hit and miss. We stayed there on 2 occasions about one month apart and we had different rooms that were totally different in terms of standards. One was bright and clean, the other was a lot darker and felt less clean.

great location for tourist attractions, close to bus, ferries, walking distance to central temples and shopping. Best rooms are in the highest floors 4th and 5th. Fantastic breakfast in buffet, catering for all tastes. Great value for money is only if you book through internet; as the rate over the counter are twice more expensive. I would definitly go back to his hotel when i go back to Bangkok.

We stayed here on two different occasions a few weeks apart. Our first room was pretty bad -- dark, on the dirty side and with a lumpy bed. But our 2nd room was perfect! Brighter, cleaner and a comfy bed. I think it really depends on which floor you´re on or who is cleaning that section of the hotel.

the best thing about the hotel for muslims is that you don´t have to worry about eating, as the restaurant serves various types of good halal food with reasonable prices. location is great if you are planning to visit the grand palace or go for a river cruising, as it is just five minutes away from the pier. Day and night markets are also about five minutes away, but not as satisfying as chatujak.

Really nice hotel for the price, ensuite, AC rooms with fridge and TV. Close to Khoa San road but not so close that you are kept awake all night by it. One of the few hotels in that area with a balcony and a bit of a view!! Check out the Jazz Bar opposite (very good expat musicians and friendly staff) and also the street restaurant on the corner both are excellent as an evening warm up before hitting Khoa San. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice we never had dinner there.

i love this hotel. it´s huge with attached balcony. quite a distance away from pratunam (the shopping paradise) but khoa san rd is of walkg distance which is a bonus. so i spend most of my nights there. beware though- upon checking out, i´ve been charged 200 baht for a pair of missing hotel slippers in my room (which i did not even put on).
