Fan cottage is not facing to the sea.
Bed sheet seems sandy, feeling not clean, dry enough.
Room hot in the noon due to no wind. At night it's still ok.
Reception need to keep your passport at check-in, while no other resort asks for in the island.
No shuttle car service available out of resort.
Breakfast is acceptable.

Rude staff who hardly speaks english

Location is good. We stayed 6 night in aircon bungalow, which is ok, even though we checked in with a dead cockroach in the shower. We first booked a fan room, which is way to expensive for the standard, which is very poor!! The staff in the reception is very rude, and don't know anything about service!! They hardly understands or speak english, or else they don't want to... Breakfast is very poor... Stay there for the location, and thats it..

ok breakfast range, but often cold noodles, chicken, eggs etc...

I liked the privacy we had. However, the toilets were quite dirty. Water pressure was poor, and there were a lot of tiny worms in the toilet. A few other travellers who stayed in other rooms shared the same case with us. Breakfast menu is not varied. Same food and very basic choices. More variety will be good.

I like the location of the hotel and it is pretty convenient. But for me it is slightly expensive. Maybe this is because it is on an island. There is one more thing I missed out, where the type of room which I booked has no water heater! This is the thing I missed out when I review the hotel on-line. I thought shower already built in with a heater! Even the weather is slightly hot but heater is quite important to us. I like the food and the scenery of Koh Lipe. A very small and nice place to pay a visit! I hope to be back if there is a chance for me.

Good location close to the beach

Stayed there for seven nights and it was quite ok. The standard bungalow was cozy, but the bathroom didn`t have a door, just a shower curtain. The toilet isn`t a western toilet, so it could take a while to get use to it. We also had two cockroaches visiting us in the room, but I guess that that`s just a part of the charm. The brakfast is really good if you go and eat breakfast early in the morning. Then they serve noodles, fried rice, freshly made pancakes and much more, but if you`re there later in the morning (after 8 am) you might get cold noodles and left overs. The best thing about Varin is the good location close to the beach and the walking street! After the seven days at Varin we moved to Ricci House, wich is located further away from the beach, but the facilities, the staff and everything else was a lot better there.

I expecially liked the location and in general the staff.
In my opinion, unfortunatelly, poor value for what I paid: the resort absolutelly needs a refreshment.
