Allright location, excellent food

The staff and the food was really good, the prices in the restaurant a bit high though. The staff at the dive center were really nice. The location is a bit far away from walking street and all the other restaurants and shops. We stayed in a Garden Breezy Bungalow and found it very unconvenient that you walk straight into the bathroom and that there is only a staircase up to the second floor where you sleep. Luckily, none of us got food poisioning which is quite common in Thailand, otherwise, the non-separated bathroom would have been very uncomfortable. No hot water in the shower, but it was so hot outside so that was fine with us. Overall, we would not choose to stay here again, due to location and bungalow.

We stayed there with children 2 and 5 years old. We stayed for a week and would have loved to have been there longer. The bungalows had decked verandahs with great hammocks. It was all kept spotlessly clean.
Overall, the trip was very enjoyable and I would like to recommend Castaway for people who would need a nice break to reconcile with peaceful nature and the sea.

This is my 3rd stay. And will definitely be staying there again! Kid friendly, excellent location – best side of the island with easy access to the main strip and Pattaya Beach bars and restaurants.
It's NOT a backpacker place and neither it is the Ritz. Love the rooms and the setup.
Food is also excellent at Castaway but you gotta get out and try the street food and BBQ on the beach on the Pattaya side.
No hot water but then who needs it when it's super hot on the island?!

Like the resort location, landscape and design.

Beautiful place on a great beach

The Castaway is a wonderful resort located directly on the quieter Sunrise Beach. The bungalows are in a chic bambus style, very comfortable and are very clean. The hammocks in front of the bungalows are great to relax in :-).
There is no AC in the room, but since the ceiling is very high and the room was breezy, there was no need for an AC.
The warm water in the room was a bit missing - especially since the water, that came out of the shower was pretty little. But this is actually the only negative thing to say about the Castaway.
It is a wonderful and beautiful place and we will return, if we can :-)!

It's our first time to visit Lipe and we LOVE IT! Castaway is located right on the beach all staffs were very friendly and helpful...always greets us with a smile...most guests are foreigners...we were the only Thai couples staying.. the food was excellent but a bit pricy!

We stayed there for a week on a family vacation. We loved the place so did our children.The staff were very helpful and attentive. Had the most delicious breakfast with great coffee every morning.

We stayed here for 10 nights in March 2008 after having spent 3 nights in Bangkok and found it to be absoluteutely fantastic and very relaxing. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the hotel was very clean and modern.
