| Formerly known as Chaoleh resort, the Tarutao Cabana resort has moved up-market under its new ownership. It is now managed by by Tigerline Travel -- the operators of the ferry service between Lipe and Langkawi, Malaysia. Service at the front desk is impersonal and rushed -- the quantity of guests seems to be more important than quality of stay here, and you get the feeling that they prefer high-turnover rather than long-term guests. The bungalows are well-constructed and there's 24 hour electricity and all bungalows have a private porch, all with daily towel service and Western breakfast at the restaurant. The air-con bungalows have hot water and satellite TV. The on-site Chao Lay Coffee Shop serves only halal food to accommodate Malaysian Muslim visitors. Tarutao Cabana is open year round, and deeply discounted rates are available from July to October during the rainy season by booking online. |
