Maliwan Thai Cooking Class welcomes everybody from tourists to local residents. We offer a great approach to cooking with exciting classes that emphasizes hands-on involvement in small class-sized, top quality local products used. Set in a heart of old city of Bangkok, Maliwan Thai Cooking Class offers variety cookery classes to choose from, our classes are designed to suit beginners as well as experienced home cooks.

Working in well-equipped teaching kitchen, you will learn fundamental cookery techniques that can be applied later when you are at home. Our chef and staff will inspire you to cook with imagination, fun, and enjoyment. They will share their technic with you that you can apply your learning to new situation. Daytime Class/Morning 09:00 – 13:00

  • 08:50 The day begins when everyone arrives at Maliwan cooking school
  • 09:00 First on the agenda is a journey by Tuk-Tuk to the local fresh produce market
  • 09:45 After learning about vegetables, Thai herbs, coconut milk, jasmine rice, etc. and purchasing what we may miss for the days’ cooking lessons, we head back to the school and take a short break with a ‘welcome drink’
  • 10:15 Next up is the first cooking demonstration. The instructor will prepare 2 dishes while the class observes. Full instruction will be provided with plenty of opportunity to ask questions
  • 10:30 We will then move to the stoves and get cooking! As we create our first 2 dishes we will get lots of assistance and tips to ensure that our Thai cuisine is just as it should be
  • 11:15 Now it’s time to eat!! We will move to the dining area and enjoy the dishes we prepared in an informal atmosphere. After eating we can take a little time to relax before heading back to the demonstration room
  • 11:30 While we watch the next 2 dishes being prepared, we can learn more about the technique of Thai cuisine
  • 11:45 After the demonstration it will be “all hands to the cooking stations” to prepare the final 2 dishes of the day. Then it’s time to dine once more!
  • 12:50 After enjoying our culinary creations and a leisurely chat, we will receive our personalized certificates
  • 13:00 It will be time to say goodbye or ‘Sawasdee Ka’ until the next time

How To Get There

  • Address: 9 Sipsamhang Road, Taladyod Phranakorn , Bangkok 10200
  • By Boat: Take the Chao Phraya Boat and get off at the Phra Arthit Pier. Call a Tuk Tuk to give you a ride to Kraisi Road. On the road, look for a Chinese Temple. 70 m. walk in to a small alley next to the temple then turn right at the junction, you will see a 4 stories-building painted in dark greyish brown
  • By Taxi: Tell the driver to drop you off at the Kraisi Road in Banglumphu area. On the road, look for a Chinese Temple. 70 m. walk in to a small alley next to the temple then turn right at the junction, you will see a 4 stories-building painted in dark greyish brown
  • By Skytrain (BTS) or Underground (MRT): There are no Skytrain or underground stations in the Khaosan Road area. Getting off at Ratchathewi bts Skytrain Station Exit 1 and catch a taxi to our cooking class. The distance between the skytrain station and Maliwan is about 4.5 km. You can also take the MRT to Hua Lamphong MRT Station and use the Exit 2 then, take a taxi to our class. The distance between the MRT station and Maliwan is about 5.5 km

Remark

  • Children age over 12 years will be charged as the adult price
  • Children under 12 years are not recommended
  • In any case of your booking isn't matched with reality when you show upfront (such as child's age, child's height, the quantity of people and etc), you are responsible to pay the additional charge upfront the show/tour.   • Please note that walking in the wet market can be a little bit wet and muddy! Please wear any closed-toe/heel shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty

How To Use

  • You must book at least 24 hours prior to arrival
  • You can present either a printed or a mobile voucher to enter to the attraction directly
  • The person who books and receives the confirmation voucher must present a valid photo ID/passport along with the voucher number
  • The voucher is valid only on specified date and time of the tour
