Probably the most abstract hotel you’ll ever come across in Chiang Mai is MO Rooms. The hotel is a portrayal of abstract ideas, Eastern and Western, made real. To quote, “It is a multi-disciplinary space which combines the creativity of a variety of artists, architects, designers, local artisans, astrologers and alternative natural therapists”. MO Rooms only has 12 rooms available. The artists/designers were tasked with applying the identity of a Chinese zodiac animal (rat, ox, tiger, dragon, etc.) into the room’s design. Therefore each of the 12 rooms is an individual artist’s interpretation of their Chinese Zodiac sign/animal.
